Gillian Mawson
During World War Two, some evacuees wrote poems which described their experiences of leaving home, the evacuation journey, and what it was like to be 'chosen' (or not) and fostered at journeys end. In this book, Gillian Mawson has compiled a selection of these poems to produce a valuable historical book, illustrated by many photographs throughout.
Florence Coombe
Florence is a young girl from Whitland, Carmarthenshire who battled poverty and hardship in the aftermath of the First World War, with her stamina and humour seeing her through the 1920's and 1930's. A significant contribution to the social historical narrative of South Wales, Broth Again For Dinner reminds us that even in the midst of deprivation, the human spirit is able to triumph.
Grey Wolf
Jay is an illustrator working in London in an alternate world where Britain controls one of several empires still spanning the world. His ordinary life is thrown into sharp relief as an alien object crests the Moon and heads inexorably for Earth. We see events unfold through his eyes, including his relationship with Sophie, a girl who will never be anyone's but who is always his love.
